Functional, clean design.

What Design Means to Me

Design is a marriage of form and function, but I've always believed that in order for design to be useful, it needs to work properly first. Functional design opens possibilities for beautiful form, and when both are working properly, the experience is unstoppable.

The Science of Imagination

Exploring My Work

The science of imagination is the most accurate way to describe my work at this point in my design career. My work combines the best of two worlds—the precision of information technology with strict coding languages and standards with the fluid, and ever-evolving field of art and design.

Over the last 5 years, I've explored many areas of design, studied forms of traditional art, worked with knowledgable collaborators in the fields of information technology, marketing, photography, print production, and design, all to understand where the work and skills that I offer lie within the spectrum of design and communication fields.

As a visual communicator, I see myself as a problem solver and idea generation specialist. I find myself needing to understand why and how things work, and I'm not satisfied until I've achieved that understanding and solved the problems placed before me.

My current and most recent work has been with local artist and business website design. I've always been attracted to both the computer and the art field, and have a great deal of knowledge when it comes to evolving to new tools and technology.

Some of my most influential and most satisfying work has come from more open ended problems with less tangible solutions. At the height of these more involved projects is the conceptualization of a new age parking system. Created for the IUPUI campus, the campuswayfinding system has been proposed to the director of development as a solution to assist drivers to parking spots on campus.

Please feel free to explore the wayfinding project, and many others in the work section of my online portfolio.
